What's New at Heinemann-Raintree Library?

New, Updated, Enhanced, Redesigned Web Site!

This May we launched the new combined
Heinemann-Raintree Library web site so that you can find all of your
favorite books from Heinemann Library and Raintree Library in one location!

Same great products, ordering and online tools...now all in one place!  Just like our new catalogs, the new and improved site combines the best of the RaintreeLibrary.com and HeinemannLibrary.com sites.  It’s your one-stop shop for great library nonfiction!

If you were registered on the RaintreeLibrary.com site, all of your information has already been migrated over to HeinemannLibrary.com for your convenience.  This includes your Customer Information, Library Processing Specs (if you had them), Saved Bookbags, and Mailing List preferences.

If you were registered on both sites, we updated your information if the RaintreeLibrary.com data was more recent and simply left it alone if your HeinemannLibrary.com data was newer.  To confirm your information or make changes, use any of the links in the above paragraph to do so.  If you have any questions, please contact our Webmaster.

Bookbag Summary in Toolbar:  In addition to the usual menu tabs and convenient links we've provided in the past, we've updated the main toolbar that appears at the top of every page to include a snapshot of what's currently in your Bookbag, including number of products and your running subtotal!  Click the summary to go directly to the Bookbag page and related tools.

Quick Links in Toolbar:  We've put the most commonly-needed customer links right above the menu of every page:  Customer Login/Logout, Customer Registration/Information Update, and Email This Page.

Expanded QuickSearch:  The QuickSearch has always been available from the top of any page of our web sites, making it a snap to look for specific ISBNs, Series, or individual product Titles.  But now we've upgraded this tool so that you can include Product Descriptions in your QuickSearch to expand the possibility of finding what you want with just one click!

Updated Advanced Product Search:  In order to really narrow down the things you're looking for on our sites, you've always been able to do extremely specific searches using our Advanced Product Search tool.  It allows you to specify what you're looking for in any particular field or aspect of our product database.  Now that Heinemann Library and Raintree are combined, you can now search specifically by Heinemann, Raintree, or both!  Like the QuickSearch, there's a new field that allows you to search for words that only appear in the product description.  Plus, there's a link to this amazingly powerful search tool at the top-right of every single web page!

Guided Reading Levels Added:  Due to overwhelming demand, we are happy to add another leveling system to our web site - Fountas & Pinnell Guided Reading Levels!  You can now use our upgraded Leveling Tool to find books by Guided Reading Level as well as see the levels on each detailed product page.  (Newer books may not be leveled but will be added when the information becomes available.)

New Acorn Read-Alouds provide an overview of the material discussed in the corresponding Acorn series at a slightly higher reading level.  Our two Read-Alouds for the Fall are Comparing Colors and Comparing Materials.  These bigger books introduce content and vocabulary appropriate for a unit of study, and also provide an ideal opportunity to teach nonfiction text structure.

Save your Bookbag to Lawson Format:  Does your school/district/county require that your book orders be placed through their Lawson system?  If so, you already know that they have to be submitted in a very specific format that's not exactly simple to understand.

Responding to a large need in Florida, we've created a one-of-a-kind feature that allows you to save the items in your current Bookbag directly to an Excel file that is precisely formatted to the Lawson system standards!  Simply click the "Export to Lawson file" link at the bottom of your current Bookbag/Order session and we'll automatically create the Lawson file for you so that you can save it to your computer and email it for immediate processing!  Sweet!!

Combined Correlations:  For several years now, we've provide Online Correlations to every state’s curriculum by partnering with EdGate, providing you with direct access to standards for all 50 states and how our titles correlate to them!  Before the two Heinemann Library and Raintree sites became one, these correlations were kept to their respective sites.

But now this feature allows you to search by state standard or by title to find out which Heinemann Library and Raintree books fit your curriculum.  Whenever state standards change, those changes are immediately reflected online.  Even our custom correlation files have been combined for your convenience!

Teaching Notes:  For the past few years, we have been busy creating a whole slew of new Teaching Notes for you!  These free, downloadable documents support the instruction of text structures, text features, comprehension, and vocabulary.  Now that the Heinemann Library and Raintree sites have combined into one, all of these resources are in one easy to access location.  At the time of this posting, we offer support for over 90 of our series...and we'll continue to add more on a regular basis!
